GS/Custom rig
November 27th, 2007 Posted in Your SidecarsRobert Volz’s GS/Custom rig - It’s a 1962 GS 160, painted by Boyd Coddington, the famous Orange County Hot Rod painter. Sidecar, metal, piaggio, frame was beat up and tweeked. Russ Meeks of Portland (Russ is an old hot rodder who has a degree in engineering, MIT, who builds cars to race on the Bonneville salt flats) rebuilt it using what was left and an old bent GS fork, turned backwards and flipped around. The hub is unique to the piaggio sidecars because it can be turned around to accept either an 8 or 10 inch wheel. Sweet, sweet rig!
